
The Transnational Working Meeting and Transnational Conference within the framework of the European Program URBACT IV – REMOTE IT European Program on the theme:
“Remote and Hybrid Work for Thriving Cities – REMOTE IT.”
The REMOTE IT program examines the new challenges cities face regarding the future of remote work, with the aim of making Heraklion a modern and attractive destination for digital nomads, while contributing to sustainable local development.
On September 30, 2025, the Transnational Working Meeting was held, where the Integrated Action Plan was presented to the Partners by Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Business Administration and Tourism at the Hellenic Mediterranean University, Mr. Markos Kourgiantakis, External Expert of the Municipality of Heraklion.
On October 1, 2025, the Director of Planning, Organisation & IT of the Municipality of Heraklion and Programme Coordinator, Ms Renia Drosou, presented the Integrated Action Plan of the Municipality of Heraklion at the Transnational Conference.
The event was attended by the Program Partners from the cities of Dubrovnik, Brindisi, Bucharest, Mula, Tartu, and Camara de Lobos, representatives of URBACT, the Ministry, local government bodies, and stakeholders from Brussels, the Netherlands, Estonia, and Portugal.
The Deputy Head of the European Programs Department, Mr. Panagiotis Tsakmopoulos, also participated in the technical meeting of the Partners.
During the meeting, the Integrated Action Plan of the Municipality of Heraklion was distributed to all transnational partners.
