The main objective of the REMOTE-IT network is understanding and solving the challenges of the future of work in urban areas, especially the impact and interrelationship of digital nomadism, hybrid work and remote work on urban development. The first communication objective is therefore to inform the target groups about the purpose, objectives and importance of this network. This objective represents a traditional approach that is important to inform the target groups about the course of implementation of the network activities, but also to strengthen the communication network with stakeholders. Why Heraklion has to participate in this?
The answer is below:
- To increase the awareness of stakeholders in the tourism sector about the activities and results of REMOTE-IT and its potential for a more sustainable development of tourism and economy in Heraklion.
- Ensure visibility of the potential for more sustainable, low-carbon urban mobility and a local economy that is strongly linked to IT development
- Inform local stakeholders and stakeholders in tourism about the advantages of new forms of work and digital nomadism for sustainable tourism and the economy.
- Promote public discussion about changes in tourism and ways to adapt to current trends using local resources (eg. empty buildings, etc.).
- Ensure visibility of online forums and podcasts at the local level
- Successful communication about the results of local activities and ensuring the efficient transfer of information from the ULG level to the transnational level.
- Promote local experiences and local solutions to achieve the visibility of initiatives, especially through the application of evidence-based policy making approach
- Encouraging dialogue between different sectors in Heraklion to develop sustainable tourism solutions that include remote working.
- Support activities aimed at strengthening multi-level governance in the tourism sector, such as promoting the multi-purpose use of empty spaces, activation of DMO and adaptation of city services to support a more sustainable mobility and IT economy.
